REFIT
A yacht refit is the chance to modernise, upgrade, or completely reimagine your vessel. Whether it’s refreshing interiors, improving performance, updating systems or adapting the layout for new use, a well-executed refit enhances both the value and enjoyment of your yacht - tailored to meet your needs today and into the future.
Why?
Yacht refits are typically carried out at regular intervals to ensure that the vessel remains safe, efficient, and in peak condition. Over time, even the finest yachts experience natural wear and tear, while technology, safety regulations, and environmental standards continue to evolve.
Owner requirements and lifestyle expectations may also change, creating the need for updated systems, layouts, and finishes.
Scheduled refits provide the perfect opportunity to carry out essential maintenance, upgrade mechanical and electrical systems, refresh interiors and exteriors, and ensure full compliance with the latest safety and environmental standards.
Beyond preserving functionality, a refit safeguards the yacht’s long-term value, enhances performance, and keeps every detail aligned with the owner’s vision, ensuring the vessel continues to deliver both luxury and reliability for years to come.

YACHT REFIT FAQs
What are some examples of refit projects?
A small refit project could be a teak deck replacement, a galley overhaul or a hull repaint. Larger projects would include a full rip out and replacement of the interior galley, cabins and saloons plus all mechanical fixtures would be rebuilt using advanced modern materials and techniques.
How long does a refit take?
Of course, it depends on the scale of the project. As an example, a teak deck replacement would take xx weeks, whilst a full refit of a superyacht could take xx months. Our dedicated project managers build a schedule of works and keep our clients informed at every step. As part of the tender process, we’ll provide you with a transparent estimate of how long each project is likely to take.
When is the best time to complete a refit?
Naturally there a times of year where a vessel will be less utilised, for example during the winter months or in preparation for peak charter periods. Rest assured that at Sheerline, we have the ability to scale our resources to meet demand and get your vessel back in the water as quickly as we can. Our team is available year round, so we’re always on hand to deliver projects. We also recognise that sometimes, there’s never a good time to take a boat out of the water. Which is why our team is also able to come to you, saving you time and hassle.
How often should a refit be done?
Think of your yacht like a home - tastes and fashions change and we often want to renovate and redecorate to reflect that. In addition to this, with use comes natural wear and tear and things need to be replaced and repaired. Your yacht is no different! With that in mind, we’d expect a full refit to be required every 15 to 20 years, whilst smaller refit projects such as replacement upholstery or galley upgrades should be done every 5 years to ensure peak enjoyment and maintenance of your vessel.
Why should I choose Sheerline for my refit?
